Support Worker

Complex Bowel Care

$60

Course Description

Our Complex Bowel Care Training is designed for support workers providing care to NDIS participants and individuals requiring high intensity supports in community and home care settings.

Aligned with the NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptors, this course equips you with the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely assist with complex bowel care procedures. These supports carry significant clinical risk, making it critical that workers are trained to perform them safely, confidently, and in line with best-practice guidelines.

You’ll learn how to support participants with bowel care routines, including recognising signs of constipation, impaction, and other complications, as well as when to escalate care. The course focuses on infection control, dignity, privacy, and person-centred care, ensuring you can provide safe and respectful support at all times.

Delivered by an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in emergency and rural healthcare, this training is practical, easy to understand, and directly applicable to real-world care environments.

Whether you’re an individual support worker looking to upskill or an organisation needing staff training, this course supports NDIS compliance, risk reduction, and high-quality care delivery.
