Our Stoma Care Training is designed for support workers providing care to NDIS participants in community, home, and supported living settings.
Aligned with the NDIS High Intensity Support Skills Descriptors, this course equips you with the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely support individuals with a stoma. As a high intensity support, stoma care requires the right training to reduce the risk of infection, skin complications, and equipment-related issues.
You’ll learn best-practice techniques for stoma management, appliance changes, skin care, hygiene, and recognising complications such as infection or leakage. The course also focuses on delivering dignified, person-centred care, ensuring participants feel comfortable, respected, and supported at all times.
Delivered by an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in emergency and rural healthcare, this training is practical, easy to follow, and directly applicable to real-world support work.
